Under the German system the breeding year starts on the 1st of October and ends on the 30th of September of the next year. The Zuchtbuch contains info about the breeding activity during that breeding year. For example Zuchtbuch of year 2010 is volume 114 and contains info about litters and results from 1st of October 2009 until 30th of September 2010.

I am lucky enough to be the owner of an almost complete Zuchtbuch collection that was previously owned by Frau Karin Stramann, the breeder of the famous Hege-Haus dogs. Feeling like a piece of the Deutsch Kurzhaar history is living under my roof.
